Vagrant Queen follows Elida from child queen to orphaned outcast, as she scavenges the treacherous corners of the galaxy, always one step ahead of the republic government out to extinguish her bloodline. Imagine Star Wars, but if Leia was the star, or Zena Warrior Princess in space.

Something really incredible and one of the things that made me fall in love with Vagrant Queen the moment I read the first issue is how capable Elida is. She is a strong, women of colour who is so well written and well developed. She is not damsel in distress, if anything that is Isaac!

Speaking of Isaac…

The utterly divine, Tim Rozon graciously answered a few questions about his upcoming role in Vagrant Queen and his love for comics, exclusive to The Valkyries!

What did it mean to you being cast as Iaasc?
It meant everything to me. It’s literally a dream role. I mean who doesn’t want the opportunity to play a misunderstood delinquent goofing off in Space! Also Jem Garrard’s scripts were some of the best scripts I’ve ever read. Isaac has so much depth, humour and he’s the right mix of heart and ridiculousness. He’s very fun to play and it was an absolute honour to be trusted enough by SYFY and Blue Ice pictures to step into Isaac’s shoes.
If you can share, what was your favourite part of filming Vagrant Queen?

The South African cast and crew. South Africa is beautiful and the people there are just the best. The crew and cast became a family to me while I was filming there and they will be in my heart for a long, long time.
I also really loved working for Jem. She’s an amazing person. She’s a workhorse and she’s a great leader. She is a powerhouse of a person.
Why do you think audiences should be excited for Vagrant Queen?
First of all everyone should start by reading the Vault comic written by Magdalene Visaggio and Jason Smith that the show is based on. That comic is perfection. Secondly the show itself is by far one of the funniest and craziest projects I’ve ever been a part of. I think people are going to lose there minds over this show. I’m excited for the reaction people are going to have.
If you had to sum up Vagrant Queen in 3 words, what would they be?
Heart, humour and Hectic.
Other than VG and WE what other comics do you enjoy?
Lazarus from Image comics by Rucka and Lark.
The Sixth Gun from Oni press by Bunn and Hurtt
Pretty Deadly from Image by Kelly sue DeConnick
Wynonna Earp from IDW by Smith and Rozon ( that’s me ;)
Thank you Tim, you are a true gent.
