Remember how obsessed I was with Spider-Man for the PS4? Well, the obsession was reignited with the release of the first lot of DLC; The Heist!

The Heist is part one of three in The City That Never Sleeps DLC series starring the one and only Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat – enemy, love interest, and ally of our beloved Spidey. The Heist follows directly on from the original game so if you’ve played it expect some cute moments between Peter and MJ. This game actually made me really love MJ and I was always more a fan of Gwen. The two of them investigate a robbery at one of the art museums in New York and whilst there Spider-Man sees Black Cat up to her usual tricks again!

Suit UP

As well as a new story the DLC also comes with three new suits – Kaine Parker’s Scarlet Spider and the Spider-UK look from the Spider-Verse as well as an original costume designed by Marvel artist Gabriele Dell’Otto!

Time to be sneaky

The gameplay allows you to be slick and sneaky again which I love in any game, although I did find that I’d COMPLETELY forgotten all the controls and kept dying and/or failing my missions – maybe a refresh would be good?
Like the original game you also got to play as MJ which was pretty fun and it’s very much about being super sneaky!

I think what I enjoyed most was the story and I loved all the interactions between the characters whether it was between Peter and MJ or Peter and Felicia, however, I think my favourite was the phone calls from Miles. (I just love that boy okay?)

We also got a further look into the character of Black Cat, although yes she was in the original game I feel like we really got to know her that little bit more which is perfect if maybe you’re not that familiar with her like other players might be!

Don’t get too comfy there FELICIA

Final Thoughts

Overall, I loved this first taste of DLC although I could’ve done without the Screwball missions – they stressed me out enough the first time around! I can’t wait for the next instalment, check out the trailer below!
