The Good Omens Premiere

Good Omens Premiere, London

The Good Omens premiere called to me, more than any other premiere ever has. Which probably explains why I’ve never been to one before, that and I’ve always missed out on getting tickets/find out it’s happening as it’s happening, which obviously isn’t ideal!

But, with Good Omens, I knew about it in advance. I knew where it was and when it was happening. I just had one problem – I had my usual business meeting the next day, as in the business meeting that requires me getting up at 5.30am.

I wanted to go so badly though, so what did I do? Did I listen to the angel Aziraphale on my shoulder? Or did I listen to the demon Crowley on the other? Was I sensible, staying at home, getting a good night’s sleep?

Like Hell I stayed at home!

I raced out to this premiere – it was the first time I actually knew I could actually catch something like this, and it was for Good Omens. The book adaption I haven’t been able to stop thinking about for the last two years. How could I stay home? I couldn’t!

So, I had the quickest change ever, and raced out of the door at 2.30pm, heading straight to London for the Good Omens premiere.

And, in the end, I had the best time ever!

I sadly didn’t have a ticket, so I couldn’t be in the fan/protester pit, but I got a fantastic spot on the grass just behind them, nestled between two specially placed apple trees, with the perfect view of the screens showing everything.

From there, unfolded two hours of absolute fangirling, sang along to Queen (of course they were playing Queen, this is Good Omens, after all), watched Satanic Nuns sing, heard the creative team talk about the process of making such a well loved book into a TV show.

Role Call!

And most importantly, I saw the cast. In the flesh. From far away, but I still saw them!

In attendance was David Tennant (Crowley), Michael Sheen (Aziraphale), Jon Hamm (Gabriel), Miranda Richardson (Madame Tracey), Josie Lawrence (Agnes Nutter) and so many others! I couldn’t believe my eyes – so many people I have loved for so long, since literal childhood, right in front of my eyes!

It was mostly their backs, between two protester boards, but I SAW THEM! I saw David Tennant, the 10th Doctor, my Doctor, with my own two eyes. I may have had a small moment at that, I’m not going to lie, but it was truly incredible. It was a dream come true.

There were a few stars I wished had been there, but to see who was there, I was over the moon. I haven’t stopped thinking about it (and listening to Queen’s Greatest Hits) since!

For a first premiere experience, it was unbeatable. I had the best time, and I cannot wait to do more in the future!

You can check out Good Omens from tonight, Friday 31st May on Amazon Prime!
