January Reading Up – comics and sci-fi edition

January Reading Up- Comics and Sci Fi!

So far this year I’ve managed to read 12 books, and to be honest I’m not sure how I managed it! A good number of those 12 books were sci-fi or comics so I thought I’d share with you all a little reading wrap up featuring just those!

All the Lonely People, David Owen – ★★★★★

I’m still thinking about this book almost a month on! Gripping, intense and an f/f romance I can’t get enough of! Make sure you check out my full book review here!

Doctor Who: The Good Doctor, Juno Dawson – ★★★★☆

Series 11 of Doctor Who truly reignited my love for Doctor Who so I was very happy when I received The Good Doctor book for Christmas! This was such a fun story with time travel mishaps with the new characters I’ve come to absolutely adore (yes even Graham)!

Exiles: issues 1-3, Saladin Ahmed  – ★★★★☆ (each)

I managed to pick these up at the charity shop I volunteer at and I’m gonna be honest I mostly got them for Peggy and Valkyrie! Featuring various characters from the Marvel multiverse who have to come together in this comic to save the universe! It was a lot of fun so maybe I’ll stumble across the next issues at some point!

Spider-Men II (1-5), Brian Michael Bendis and Sarah Pichelli – ★★★★☆

It wouldn’t be one of my posts if I didn’t at least gush over Spider-Man! This was one of my fave comics I’ve read so far this year! It had Peter, Miles, a mention of Gwen and a lot of intrigue and mystery – another really fun read!

Ms. Marvel vol 1: No Normal, G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona – ★★★★★

I finally read Ms. Marvel! Y’all know how much I adore her and also how I have to be in the mood for comics so this has been sitting pretty on my shelf since my birthday back in November!
And I loved it so much, I didn’t think it was possible to love Kamala more! I can’t wait to read the second volume at some point!

Special mention goes to Non Pratt’s YA adaption of Giant Days as well! Based on the comic series by Boom! this was the perfect introduction to the world and I’ll definitely be looking into getting my hands on the comics!
