Zombieland 2: Double tap movie review
I was very late to the Zombieland franchise. I only watched the first one last year, despite having owned the DVD for at least two before that!
Which, to be fair, was probably a Godsend, because it meant that I didn’t have to wait so long for the sequel, which was a long ten years in the making.
Zombieland 2 ten years in the making
So, was it any good? Was it worth the wait? Did Double Tap live up to its original film?
Of course it did!
Double Tap follows the same characters from the first film – Tallahassee, Columbus, Little Rock and Wichita – as they carry on trying to survive Z-Land, ten years later.
And, without giving away plot details, what follows is essentially a hilarious, gory, bloody good time!
Bloody good time
I had the most horrendous headache-bordering-on-migraine for the entire film, and usually that makes me want to run and hide in a very, very dark corner without any sort of stimulation whatsoever. Yet, while watching Zombieland Double Tap, I was having a great time – one of the best times I’ve had in the cinema this year, if I’m honest.
Double Tap is, in short, a fantastic sequel to the original, it builds up on the characters, builds up the zombies, and builds on the other humans trying to survive.
Bigger, brasher and the stakes are higher
The attack scenes are bigger, the zombie’s more dangerous, and the stakes are higher than ever. If you loved Zombieland, you are going to adore Double Tap!
And, just a quick thing – stay for the credits. There’s a few surprises to not be missed!
